No. 39 · Giving Way

The verse

Two carts meet in a narrow lane;
if one gives a little, both get through.

Giving wayEasing up

What it means

Not everything needs a winner. On small matters that do not touch your principles, ease up a little today; giving way can make getting along smoother and leave you less tense.

Something to do today

• On one small, unimportant disagreement, choose to give way.
